A Wake-Up Call
In 2015, I found myself at a critical juncture and ready for a lifestyle change. Weighing 210 pounds at 5'7", my lifestyle was far from healthy. This reality hit home in the most tragic way possible. At a family party, I witnessed the untimely death of my uncle. His years of neglecting his health, compounded by alcohol and drug abuse, led to this heartbreaking moment. That day was a turning point for me. I resolved never to let my family endure the pain of seeing a loved one succumb to preventable health issues.
Why Change Was Necessary
My family has a history of health complications like high blood pressure, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. Recognizing this, I was determined to break the cycle. This decision was more than a choice; it was a necessity for a healthier, fuller life.
The Struggle and Support
Transforming my life was not easy. Changing long-standing habits and developing healthier ones required immense self-discipline and perseverance. This journey was made more challenging as I battled depression and anxiety. However, I was not alone. I am deeply grateful to everyone who supported me, especially my grandmother Chela and my goddaughter. Their unwavering love and support were pivotal in my transformation.
